How to Go to Azkaban in Hogwarts Legacy

There’s some unfortunate news for anyone whose characters are in Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Slytherin. Visiting Azkaban is a Hufflepuff-exclusive series of side missions you can only experience if you pick this house initially or create a new save. Instead, the other three houses get entirely different main story quests around this time, all leading up to the same moment. Fortunately, it isn’t a late-game quest; you can reach this point after a few hours of playing if you want to swap over to Hufflepuff.

Once you begin playing as your Hufflepuff character, you’ll have to progress through the main story a bit. More specifically, you’ll have to venture outside the Hogwarts School of Wizardry until you encounter the Trials of Merlin, a quest asking you to save a woman in Lower Hogsfield from a group of Ashwinder enemies.

Upon defeating them, finishing the trials and concluding the quest, you’ll get a letter notifying you that the Portrait of Eldritch Diggory, located in the Hufflepuff Common Room, wants to speak to you. Visit your Hufflepuff Common Room and chat with the portrait before visiting Helen Thistlewood in Upper Hogsfield.

During this brief conversation with Helen, she’ll recount a murder mystery story and ask if you’re willing to travel to Azkaban. Upon accepting, she’ll Apparate you to Azkaban, where the Prisoner of Love quest will ensue. Make sure you spend plenty of time exploring since this is your only opportunity to visit the prison.

Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. To learn more about the game, check out our complete Hogwarts Legacy content catalog by clicking the tag below!
