Ever since the introduction of the golden potato in Disney Dreamlight Valley, numerous odd-colored potatoes have taken over community conversations. They’re invading our minds and causing several day-long investigations just to figure out the lore behind these tubers. It gets wacky over here, and with the purple potato making its way into the Valley, there is even more to unpack! Where to Find the Purple Potato in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The purple potato is locked behind a portal in Frosted Heights. After you open Frosted Heights and unlock the Secret Chamber, you can enter it to find a purple portal. Interact with it and choose the correct words to get the potato.
Once you interact with the portal, you’ll see text boxes with three different words and the option to back away. You’ll have to pick the correct word for each list.
Below is every correct word for the purple potato portal puzzle:
- Potato
- Book
- Dreams
- Higitus Figitus!
- Fugu
- Crystal
- Foraging
- The Forgetting
- Raspberry
- Magic
Once you click the final option, the purple potato will appear on the ground for you to pick up. Make sure you have enough inventory space for it.

What Is the Purple Potato Used for in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
After getting your hands on the purple potato item, head to any nearby crafting station to find the Royal Purple Potion item under Potion & Enchantment. Using the purple potato and an empty vial, you can create this item and craft the Rainbow potion once you have the other potato mixtures.
We suspect the Rainbow potion may be involved in a future mission or other secrets. While this quest is still a mystery to us all, upcoming updates may unveil exactly what this and other potions do.
Update: I can confirm now that the rainbow potion is used to obtain the rainbow fox companion after completing the Dark Castle quest line. However, you need all six potato potions to create the rainbow potion!
