The world of RuneScape is jam-packed with a variety of locations, environments, and interesting areas that one will explore on their way to meet their RuneScape goals. One such area that has maintained popularity over the years is the God Wars Dungeon. At some stage, one is bound to attempt to enter the God Wars Dungeon to encounter Nex. But how exactly do you unlock the frozen door? Keep reading to find out how to get the frozen key in RuneScape.
Where to Find the Frozen Key in RuneScape
To obtain the frozen key in RuneScape you first need to make sure that you have met the following requirements:
- 70 Strength
- 70 Agility
- 70 Ranged
- 70 Constitution
- Completion of The Dig Site quest
Once these requirements have been met, you need to make your way to the God Wars Dungeon. Once inside you will see that there are four strongholds which each contain followers of their favoured god. Defeating these enemies is necessary as each stronghold drops a specific piece of the frozen key which consists of four total pieces.
The enemies and their strongholds are as follows:
- Armadyl’s Eyrie (Aviansie, spiritual mages, spiritual rangers, and spiritual warriors)
- Bandos’ Stronghold (Bandos followers)
- Saradomin’s Encampment (Saradomin followers)
- Zamorak’s Fortress (Zamorak followers)
Note: Only the enemies inside of the actual strongholds will drop frozen key pieces.
Once you have collected all four of the frozen key pieces and combined them into the frozen key, you will have access to the Ancient Prison. Each frozen key has a base of 10 charges and can hold 100 charges. Once the frozen key has run out of charges, it will not be able to be used again. You have the option of either creating a new frozen key or repairing it via Bob in Lumbridge. I personally prefer taking it to Bob but either option works well!
