How to Get the Centrifuse Exotic in Destiny 2

A gun that's guaranteed to give you carpal tunnel

Destiny’s really been showing auto rifles with love lately. And as someone who’s faithfully kept at least one auto rifle in their loadout since Destiny Vanilla, I’m always happy to see a new one debut. Here’s how to get the Centrifuse Exotic Auto Rifle in Destiny 2.

How to Get the Centrifuse Exotic in Destiny 2

It’s rare we get a piece of Golden Age tech to decimate our enemies with, but Centrifuse really wears the time on its sleeve. Or should I say its barrel?

Fortunately, it’s easy to grab. If you purchased the Season pass, all you need to do is open your menu, tab over to Season 21, and claim it as your first seasonal award. But if you haven’t paid the toll, don’t worry. Free players will also be able to grab it once they’re at level 35 in the battle pass.

But once you have it, is it worth it?

Centrifuse Build and Perks in Destiny 2

This Exotic Auto Rifle is a little different from most of the energy weapons you’ll see. Here’s how it breaks down.

  • Barrel Corkscrew Rifling. Stability + 5, Range +5, Handling +5.
  • Exotic Perk Overcharge Capacitor. Sprinting, sliding, and firing this weapon builds a temporary electrostatic charge, increasing range and reload speed. Final blows with high charge cause explosions, and maximum charge explosions blind targets.
  • Trait 1Regenerative Motion. Sprinting gradually reloads this weapon.
  • StockHand-Laid Stock. Stability +10.

As you can see, it’s a gun that really only excels with a certain type of playstyle. But if you’re the type to slide and sprint your way to victory, it’s likely that you’ll see a lot of value from this gun. It might even have decent play in Crucible, as its handling is exceptional at 77.

How to Get the Centrifuse Catalyst in Destiny 2

You can make the Centrifuse even better by getting its Catalyst. And to do that, you’ll have to speak to Banshee-44 in the Tower. He’s at his usual spot at the weapon shop just behind the vaults.

The quest he’ll give you, called Higher Voltage, has three steps. Here are all the steps for the Centrifuse Exotic Catalyst Quest, High Voltage.

  • Step 1
    • Targets defeated rapid 0/20
    • Targets defeated with Arc final blows 0/40
  • Step 2
    • Calibrate data and defeat targets while using Centrifuse. Calibration occurs when you complete Vanguard Operations, Gambit and Crucible matches, or Seasonal Playlist activities.
      • Calibration data generated 0/200
      • Targets defeated 0%
  • Step 3.
    • Currently unknown, but we’ll update this space once the last step has been unlocked.

Centrifuse isn’t the only gun that’s making its debut in Destiny 2. The long-awaited, and much teased Epochal Integration is finally here, too. Check out how to get it here: How to Get the Epochal Integration in Destiny 2.
