How to Get the Archaic Tunic in Tears of the Kingdom

It's really more like half a tunic

Link spends a significant amount of the early game not wearing a shirt. And we get it! He has some sick new ink, and he wants everyone to look at it. But if you’re feeling exposed, you might want to put on a tunic. An archaic tunic, even. Here’s how to get the Archaic Tunic in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to Get the Archaic Tunic in Tears of the Kingdom

So, you managed to grab the pants/skirt combo pretty early on. But you might be wondering where in the world is the shirt?

If you’ve just started out, it might be a little further than you think. The Archaic Tunic is on the southernmost part of the Great Sky Island, East of In-isa Shrine and at Poolside Cave. Here’s the step-by-step guide.

If you’re coming from In-isa Shrine, head down the stairs and follow the path around the island. It’s pretty one way; eventually, you’ll find a pond. To the right of this pond, embedded in the cliff wall, is a cave entrance. Enter it, and you’ll find yourself in the aptly named Pondside Cave.

It’s within this cave that we can find the Archaic Tunic.

From the entrance, you’ll tromp through a narrow tunnel that’s guaranteed to have some Keese bats. Eventually, this tunnel will open into a larger cavern. Now, it’s in this tunnel that you’ll encounter the real threat: a white frog- axolotl chimera. Fortunately, it mostly just spits bubbles at you, which are pretty easy to avoid.

I’ll be honest. I looked at that guy crawling around the walls and ceiling, looked at my three arrows, and decided to walk right on by. But if you can catch up to him, he doesn’t have much health, and he’s not that aggressive.

You can choose to fight the monster or not. Either way, there’s only one exit which is on the back left. But be mindful; this is where the chest with the Archaic Tunic is! It’s to your left, in a small alcove.

Now you have a shirt and a little bit more defense. But it’s really more like half a shirt, isn’t it?
