How to Get the Ace of Spades in Destiny 2 (2023)

Rep those Cayde colors

by Daphne Fama

Death rarely comes for Guardians who are kept from the void by their Ghosts. But in 2018, it claimed one of the best Guardians Destiny ever had: Cayde-6. His death was fraught with sacrifice, selflessness, and utterly ridiculous hijinks that perfectly embodied who he was as a Guardian. The community mourned his passing, but he’s still part of our lives in many small ways. And one of those ways is the Ace of Spades, a gun that was released during the Forsaken Expansion in 2018. But 2018 might as well be a lifetime ago. Can you still get this fantastic PvP head cannon? Here’s how to get the Ace of Spaces in Destiny 2 in 2023.

The Ace of Spades is a fantastic Exotic Hand Cannon that performs almost equally well in PvE and PvP, though you’re far more likely to see it excel when it’s aimed at other Guardians. Its intrinsic ability, Memento Mori, is an ability that rewards you for getting kills. Reloading after a kill loads the magazine with a few extra-damage bullets. It also grants radar while aiming down the sights, which is fantastic for PvP.

It also comes with Firefly. On Precision Kills the target explodes, dealing Solar Damage in a 3-meter radius. This radius is the same size as Dragonfly, but it deals 25% increased damage.

But how do you get it?

The answer is likely simpler than you think: head to the tower and go towards the Vault consoles. In between them will be the Monument to Lost Lights. It’s here that you can purchase Exotics from past Expansions.

Head to the top row and you’ll see Forsaken Exotics. In this menu, you’ll find the Ace of Spades, which you can purchase at a steep cost:

  • 1 Exotic Cipher
  • 125,000 Glimmer
  • 200 Etheric Spiral
  • 1 Ascendant Shard

But the highest cost of all? You’ll need to own the Forsaken Expansion, which costs $20 USD.
