How to Get Tarker Meat in Escape from Tarkov

If only people played Arena more...

Tarker Meat is an unusually rare spawn in Escape from Tarkov. Finding Tarker Meat is always needed in every wipe for a quest from Ref, and players who love to play Escape from Tarkov Arena will want to prioritize Ref’s quest lines. Finding them might be tricky, but you must hit all the provision loot spawns. Here’s the best way to find Tarker Meat in Escape from Tarkov.

Where to Get Tarker Meat in Escape from Tarkov

A Pack of Tarker Dried Meat falls under the provisions category, but not all loose loot spawns that generally have provisions can spawn them. For example, Interchange’s Goshan grocery can spawn Herring, Squash, Apple Juice, Sprats, canned goods, and packaged drinks, but you won’t see things like Iskras, MREs, or Tarker Meat.

This is why Interchange, while it is the best source of food spawns, isn’t the best spot to find Tarker Meat. Your best shot at finding Tarker Meat is to open as many Ration Supply Crates, Duffle Bags, or Sports Bags. Reserve, Woods, and Customs are the best maps for these loot spawns. However, Reserve would require keys like RB-PSP1 and RB-PSP2 to be worth it.

In Woods, you want to hit the Military/Emercom camp near the Sawmill and ZB-016. The place has several big crates, mostly Ration and Medical crates. In a way, you can also get good medical spawns like Salewas, Morphines, and CMS Kits for your future quests.

In Customs, your best shot is the second floor of Stronghold for Ration Supply Crates, plus some loose provision spawns in the Scav room on the first floor. There are also several Buried Caches scattered across the map. Some players call these “secret stashes,” and they can spawn almost anything in the game.

In Reserve, you’ll go to the underground food reserve next to the armored train side and below the Bunker Hermetic Door extraction. However, you’ll need at least one good to loot the area. The best one is RB-PSP1 if you want to buy from the flea market. These locked gates have several Ration Supply Crates and other loose spawns. These are great for stockpiling food supply and finishing other food-related quests.

What is Tarker Meat Used For in Escape from Tarkov?

Apart from eating a Pack of Tarker Dried Meat to increase your energy, its only other useful use is for Easy Money – Part 2. It comes after finishing Easy Money – Part 1 from Skier and unlocking Ref, the trader.

You need five Tarker Meat to give to Ref, and they must be “found in raid.” Finishing Ref’s quests awards you more reputation. When Ref levels up, you’ll unlock cooler trades using GP Coins. You can completely disregard some of these quests if you don’t play Escape from Tarkov Arena. Since most of your GP Coins will be coming from the Arena, you won’t utilize Ref as much if you don’t play it.

Escape from Tarkov Arena is a great way to supplement your leveling and earn some money, too. Apart from earning GP Coins, you can earn Roubles by just playing and send them to the base game.
