Best Places to Get Technical Loot in Escape from Tarkov

Get any technical loot you need!

Several quests in Escape from Tarkov require you to find certain technical loot. Besides quests, most hideout upgrades need technical items like Toolsets, Car Batteries, Corrugated Hoses, and more. While there are many technical items, it isn’t easy to find a specific one. The best way to get specific technical items is by hitting as many technical loot spawns as possible and hoping for the best. Here are the best spots to get technical loot in Escape from Tarkov.

Lighthouse Water Treatment Plant

The water treatment plant in Lighthouse is one of the best spots for technical loot spawns in Escape from Tarkov. The whole area is littered with technical loot spawns. The first two tents have two Technical Supply Crates near the main entrance. There’s another Technical Supply Crate by the tanker outside USEC building 2 (warehouse #2).

USEC building 2 also has several loose technical spawns near the fire barrel by the large metal shelves. There are also more technical loot spawns by USEC building 1 on the metal shelves near the rooms. If you have the Water Treatment Plant Storage Key, you can loot two more Technical Supply Crates inside it. The key is cheap, so it is worth buying if you run Lighthouse a lot.

If you push outside the water treatment plant, you can also loot the warehouse by the railyard to get more technical loot. Lighthouse is probably the best place to get technical loot spawns if you are looking for “military” grade items like Phased Arrays, Military Corrugated Tubes, Military Cables, and more. Since military-grade items only drop on Lighthouse and Reserve, this might be your only map choice.

Customs Industrial Plants

With the big Customs rework in patch 0.16, Customs has become the best spot for technical spawns. However, that also means that the buildings in the middle of Customs are now open and dangerous. You never know if someone will peek through the windows, making running around the area extremely dangerous.

Nevertheless, the technical loot spawns are abundant in basically all buildings in Customs. The only places (or warehouses) with little to no technical loot spawns are Tarcone’s warehouse and the warehouse near the Unknown Key bunkhouse.

Every warehouse has loose technical loot, Technical Supply Crates, and Toolboxes. The industrial plant where you finish the Provide Viewership task has so much technical loot that you can fill up your tactical rig and backpack by looting the whole plant. Running Customs is also common in the early wipe because of the early quests. It is a great way to get Corrugated Hoses to upgrade your hideout early.

You can also play a Scav and loot the container yard since these rarely get looted by players. This is also where you finish the Passion for Ergonomics task introduced in patch 0.16.

Streets of Tarkov Camp

Streets of Tarkov has always been the best map for looting ever since it was introduced, and especially since it was expanded. However, the biggest problem in Streets of Tarkov is actually surviving outside because you will most likely get into a firefight one way or another.

The place has random technical loot spawns everywhere, but the best one is in the camp where Kaban spawns. There are five to six loose technical loot spawns by the garage, including a Toolbox. There are two Technical Supply Crates by both entrances. There are also some Toolbox spawns near the Concordia side of the camp. Duffle and Sports Bags may also spawn technical items, making the whole area great to loot.

However, you want to loot this area fast because it is extremely dangerous to stay inside for long. For one, player Scavs might start running to the location to loot (probably the same case as the water treatment plant in Lighthouse). There are only two exits, so if a PMC hears someone inside, they might just camp one of the exits and say, “Thank you for looting the camp for me.”

There are many things that can happen, but if you want to stick to a safer strategy, you are better off at Customs. Just play it safe by staying away from the windows.
