How to Get Shadow Latios in Pokemon Go

Shadow Latios is a very potent Dragon/Psychic Pokemon that players can catch in Pokemon Go. Due to its high popularity and therefore popular demand, here’s the best way to get your hands on the Legendary Hoenn ‘mon.

How to Catch Shadow Latios in Pokemon Go

You will need to perform six field research note quests in order to get a shot at catching Shadow Latios:

Phase 1:

• Win a raid
• Defeat 3 Team Go Rocket Members
• Catch a Shadow Pokémon

Phase 2:

• Catch 5 Shadow Pokemon
• Make 3 Nice Curveball Throws in a row
• Defeat 5 Team Go Rocket Grunts

Phase 3:

• Purify 5 Shadow Pokemon
• Defeat 5 Team Go Rocket Grunts
• Earn 3 Candies walking with your buddy

Phase 4:

• Defeat Team Go Rocket Leader Arlo
• Defeat Team Go Rocket Leader Cliff
• Defeat Team Go Rocket Leader Sierra

Phase 5:

• Find the Team Go Rocket Boss
• Battle the Team Go Rocket Boss
• Defeat the Team Go Rocket Boss

You may think that phase six will be even harder but no, it’s actually just about collecting your rewards for everything you’ve done so far. There’s aren’t any real tasks involved.

The end goal is to defeat Giovanni. Whenever you beat a Team Go Rocket member, you’ll loot a Mysterious Component from them. Having six of these enables you to get a cool gadget known as Pocket Radar. Pocket Radar helps you find the hideouts of the leaders in the game. These are the leaders we’ve mentioned above (Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra).

After you defeat three of them, your reward (Super Rocket Radar) will allow you to find the Headquarters where the notorious Giovanni resides.

The fight against him is extra hard. He’ll definitely use a Persian and Shadow Latias. His third ‘mon will be picked at random from either Nidoking, Machamp, or Rhyperior.

Counter the Persian with a Fighting Pokemon. Use the following for the second Pokemon:

• Nidoking can be countered with Ground/Psychic moves
• Honchkrow can be countered with Psychic/Fairy/Flying moves
• Rhyperior can be countered with Grass/Water moves

Shadow Latios is highly vulnerable to Bug, Dark, Dragon, Fairy, Ghost, and Ice attacks, so make sure you have those Pokemon ready. Try putting Chandelure or Dialga against it.
