Sockets are one of the most important parts of your gear in Diablo 4 and some equipment is missing the space for your gems. To fix that, you can use Scattered Prisms to add Gem Sockets to your armor or weapons, but you need to get the prisms before adding the slots to your gear.
Where to Get Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4
You can get Scattered Prisms by defeating World Bosses or taking down Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4. In the early part of the game, killing Treasure Goblins will be the best way to earn the prisms. However, there are some issues with this method. For starters, the Treasure Goblins randomly spawn around Sanctuary and they aren’t reliable. I found some in Fractured Peaks and Scosglen, but they appear everywhere.
The second problem is that the prisms won’t be guaranteed. They just have a good chance of dropping. So even if you find the goblin, there is some RNG getting in the way of farming.
World Bosses and larger enemies are a far better way to reliably earn Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4. Before you can start fighting World Bosses though, you must complete the main campaign all the way to the end of Act 6. Once the campaign is over, the bosses will start to appear on your map with timers. Having groups to take down bosses like Ashava and Avarice is a must.

Whether it’s from World Bosses or the Treasure Golbin in Diablo 4, it’s important to start stacking up on Scattered Prisms for the late-game aspect of your character. When a piece of armor you like doesn’t have a socket, the prisms are an easy fix for your build.
