How to Get Off the Aerodome in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7)

Let me off this boat

The Aerodome is so confusing for no reason in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, or perhaps I’m really bad at reading the game’s context clues. Here’s how to get off the Aerodome in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7).

Look, we’ve all had moments where we’ve played a level, and despite everything, we just can’t figure out how to leave the area. It’s not like the game is trying to stop us, but the way out eludes us for whatever reason. That was certainly my experience with the Aerodome. The Aerodome is the ship that’s docked in Under Junon, which Cloud accesses with the help of Priscilla and a friendly dolphin. But once Cloud and crew get on the ship, called Aerodome, you’ll be forced to navigate your way through the floors and out of the ship. Here’s how to do that.

Once you have control of Cloud, follow the corridor left, then right. You’ll pass by some Shinra soldiers, but ignore them. Instead, continue forward until you can go right again. At which point, you can ascend a set of stairs.

This will put you on the Aerodrome’s upper level. And it’s here that things can get confusing. Once you arrive, you’ll get a cutscene, and you’ll be absolutely surrounded by soldiers. While you can wander around most of the upper deck, there’s only one thing to really do here: leave.

And to leave, you’ll need to follow the red carpet to the end of the upper deck, away from the Highwind. Once you get to the end of the upper deck and the red carpet, you’ll find an open room. In this open room is a singular terminal with a red screen.

You’ll need to interact with this screen to start the elevator, letting you leave the area.

It’s very easy for some people (me) to miss this terminal while first exploring the upper deck completely. But once you find it, it’ll feel obvious. After a cutscene, you must suit up in a Shinra uniform. But the trouble doesn’t end here: Cloud must find units for the parade next.
