Frostpunk 2 has an interesting form of currency called Heatstamps. Heatstamps are a quantitative way to distribute heat to the people. People contribute to society in exchange for Heatstamps or heat to survive the winter. As the leader, you use these Heatstamps to perform certain actions, including building structures. These Heatstamps are extremely valuable, and some players might constantly find themselves lacking Heatstamps and don’t know where to get them. Here’s how to get more Heatstamps in Frostpunk 2.
How to Acquire Heatstamps in Frostpunk 2
Heatstamps are provided by the general population of your city. Everyone needs heat, so everyone will have Heatstamps to contribute to you. So, the only way to get Heatstamps is through your population, and the higher your population, the more Heatstamps you can earn.
However, the people also want some Goods to keep their sanity in check. Goods contribute to society, and people will pay more for Heatstamps if there are more available Goods. Building Industrial Districts and producing Goods instead of Prefabs will give you more Heatstamps because these people will pay “Heatstamps” to get those Goods.
The need for Goods is also fixed based on the size of your population. So, the best way to get Heatstamps is to see if you are meeting the Goods need on your upper panel. If you are getting enough Goods to the people, you’ll maximize the amount of Heatstamps you can get from them. Solving the Goods problem also reduces crime within the city, so there’s an added benefit to it.
If you still need more Heatstamps, you just need to increase your population. This can mostly be done by waiting until your population grows or going on expeditions to discover and let more people join from the outside.
What Are Heatstamps Used For in Frostpunk 2?
Heatstamps are used to construct buildings and perform specific actions. Most players encounter the Heatstamps problem when they get overly invested in frostbreaking areas to clear the path before even building the needs of the city.
This is why you always need to be conservative when using Heatstamps since they are practically used for everything in the game. One overlooked feature is spending Heatstamps on certain factions to let them do whatever they need for their people or community.
If you hover over the different factions on the lower panel, you’ll see different tabs. You can allocate Heatstamps to factions by funding their projects or letting them do other activities. This builds trust with the factions, and it could help you pass more laws or avoid exile when you fail to reduce the tension in the city.
