If you want to make steady progress in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll need to have a steady supply of Infernal Iron. This resource allows you to get better armor, which directly translates into more survivability. Here’s what to know if you’re looking to find Infernal Iron in Baldur’s Gate 3.
All Infernal Iron Locations in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)
Here are all the known locations of this resource, along with their relevant map coordinates.
- Blighted Village (X: 37 Y:420): Enter the building, and use fire to clear the web built on the ground. Then, jump through the hole. You’ll find a ladder where you land. Use that to get on the platform, and the iron is situated in a chest (you’ll have to use a lockpick).
- Zhentarim Hideout (X:382 Y:-260): To reach this location, use the hatch that can be found at the building located to the northwest of Waukeen’s Rest. You’ll find a wardrobe at the coordinates mentioned here which reveals a staircase. Use this staircase to reach the hideout. Head northward, and pick the lock of the Iron Gate. You can find Infernal Iron from the chest at right (there are two) after you disarm the trap.
- Grymforge: The best way to reach Grymforge is using a boat from Underdark. Go to the waypoint of Grymforge in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3) and you’ll encounter Stonemason Kith. There’s a check, and if you manage to clear that successfully, you’ll get an Iron.
- Shattered Sanctum (X: 297 Y: 61): First. take the Heavy Oak Door from within the Goblin Camp. The coordinates mentioned here will take you to Dror Ragzlin’s room. You’ll find a locked Iron Gate, which can only be opened with Dror Ragzlin’s Key (you’ll have to defeat and loot him). You’ll find Treasure Crates behind the locked door, and you can find Infernal Iron from there.
- Masons Guild: Make sure to visit this location at Reithwin Town. The Masons Guild is located to the north of the waypoint, and you’ll find several resources spread out on the floor.
What is Infernal Iron in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)?
As stated above, this resource can be only produced in Nine Hells. Aside from crafting armor, you’ll need this iron if you plan on romancing Karlach and keeping her as a companion. Infernal Iron allows you to tame Karlach’s Infernal Engine.
Within the game, you’ll come across a blacksmith named Dammon. Once you speak with him, he will mark several locations from where you can extract this resource.
Once you find the resource, make sure to visit Dammon, who can also create the Flawed Helldusk Heavy Armor. Thankfully, the blacksmith can be found in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)’s Emerald Grove, and also at the Last Light Inn in Act 2.
