How to Get Indigo Plants in Enshrouded
Purple plants, anyone?
Indigo Plants are a resource you’ll need to strengthen your Flame from Level 3 to Level 4 in Enshrouded. They’re also used to craft Blue Fabric, armor pieces, and various decorative items. Fortunately, you can find plenty of them in Revelwood once you know where to look.
Here’s how to find Indigo Plants and grow your own supply.
Where to Find Indigo Plants in Enshrouded

Indigo Plants are native to the Revelwood biome. They look similar to Flax, so it’s easy to confuse the two. You can find them scattered throughout the region, but if you’re having trouble, here are a few locations worth checking out.
- Tower of Ruin: Explore the area around the Tower of Ruin in Revelwood. You should find a few Indigo Plants nearby.
- Diadwyn: This settlement is located west of the Revelwood Ancient Spire and is one of the best places to find Indigo Plants. Check the farmbeds, surrounding fields, and areas near the boar dens.
- Thornhold: Located in the eastern part of Revelwood, Thornhold has several Indigo Plants growing nearby. Check the dirt road southwest of the settlement and the surrounding trees.
Indigo Plants are tall and have clusters of purple flowers, making them relatively easy to spot among the greenery. You can harvest them by interacting with the plants, so you don’t need any special tools.
You only need one Indigo Plant to get started with farming. Make sure to save it for crafting Indigo Seedlings, as growing your own supply is much more convenient than repeatedly travelling back to Revelwood.
How to Grow Indigo Plants in Enshrouded

Growing Indigo Plants works much like farming other crops in Enshrouded.
To get started, you’ll need to rescue the Farmer, Emily Fray, and unlock the Seedbed. Once you’ve harvested an Indigo Plant in the wild, you’ll unlock the recipe for Indigo Seedlings. You can then craft them using the following materials:
| Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Indigo Plant | 1 |
| Farm Soil | 1 |
The Seedbed also requires water to craft seedlings. Each crafting cycle produces five Indigo Seedlings, meaning one Indigo Plant is enough to get five seedlings in return.
Once you have the seedlings, place Farm Soil or Fertilized Farm Soil at your base and plant them. Wait for them to mature before harvesting the Indigo Plants. You can then use part of your harvest to craft more seedlings and maintain a steady supply.
How Many Indigo Plants Do You Need for the Flame Upgrade?
You’ll need 15 Indigo Plants to strengthen your Flame from Level 3 to Level 4. This is one of several resource requirements for the upgrade, so it’s worth collecting them while exploring Revelwood.
If you’re already gathering materials for the upgrade, collect extra Indigo Plants whenever you find them. You can use any surplus to craft Blue Fabric and other items later in the game.
Indigo Plants aren’t the only resource you’ll need for the Flame upgrade. You’ll also need Goo, which takes a little more effort to obtain than a plant.
