How To Get Goo In Enshrouded

Time to get some GOO

Goo is one of the key materials you’ll need early on to strengthen your Flame Altar from Level 3 to Level 4. It’s also used to craft certain armor pieces, potions, and spells. While the crafting recipe for Goo isn’t complicated, gathering the required materials can be difficult in the early game.

The game doesn’t really explain how to get Goo, so here’s everything you need to know.

One of the materials needed to craft Goo requires the Mortar crafting station. To get the Mortar, you first need to rescue the Alchemist NPC.

Travel to the Alchemist’s Ancient Sanctum to find the Alchemist. Then, complete the Alchemist’s Mortar quest to obtain the Mortar from the Alchemist Tower. Once you have both, you can start gathering the ingredients for Goo.

Here’s the crafting recipe for Goo in Enshrouded:

MaterialsQuantity
Bug Dust1
Shroud Mushroom2
Springlands Dirt1

If you interact with the Alchemist after obtaining the Mortar, you might notice that Goo isn’t available in the crafting menu. Don’t worry, there’s no glitch. Crafting recipes unlock when your character discovers the required materials. In this case, you’ll need to craft Bug Dust first.

Bug Dust and Shroud Mushrooms are the ingredients you might have trouble finding. Springlands Dirt is relatively easy to obtain, as you can dig it up from the ground using a pickaxe.

Bug Dust is crafted at the Alchemist’s Mortar using a single ingredient: Critter Parts. Fortunately, these are easy to farm. They’re dropped by Fell Critters, which spawn frequently in the Shroud areas of Springlands and Revelwood.

At this stage of the game, you might already have some Critter Parts stored in a chest. If you don’t, head into a nearby Shroud area and look for Fell Critters.

If you want to farm a large quantity, you can visit the Critter’s Nest near Egerton Salt Mines. Once you craft your first Bug Dust, the Goo recipe will unlock.

To get Shroud Mushrooms, head to Shroud-covered areas in Revelwood and look for tall mushrooms with a faint green glow underneath them. Use an axe to chop them down, just as you would a tree, and collect the Shroud Mushrooms.

These aren’t particularly difficult to find. Explore the larger Shroud-covered areas in Revelwood, and you should come across plenty of them.

That’s all you need to gather the ingredients and craft Goo in Enshrouded.
