Who said that the best things in life don’t come for free? No one in Forgotten Valley, that’s for sure. Looking after a farm is not only hard work but awfully expensive, especially when you are building it from the ground up. So, when there’s an opportunity to save money, you should definitely take it. In this case, we will be exploring how to get free fertilizer in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.

How to Make Your Own Fertilizer in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life

Fertilizer is really useful in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. Buying the amount that you need for your pasture and fertilizing your crops twice a day sure costs a pretty penny though. So, let’s not do that! Sorry, Vesta. Admittedly, you will need to visit her shop first to buy enough fertilizer to grow fodder for your animals when they’re out to pasture.

Once you have fertilized the pasture and have grown enough fodder that you have a healthy supply, harvest your additional fodder. Make sure that you leave enough for both the animals to eat and for it to continue to spread and grow.

Then follow the steps below:

  • If you have yet to do so, buy the Fertilizer Maker from Takakura’s ledger for 45,000G.
  • Collect as much fodder as you can spare.
  • Go to the Fertilizer Maker and insert the fodder into the machine by holding it in your hands and interacting with it.
  • The Fertilizer Maker will give you five lots of fertilizer for every item that you place in it.
  • Rinse and repeat.

So, every single fodder that you put in the machine will produce five lots of fertilizer. This will give you more than enough to spread more fertilizer on your pasture to grow more fodder so that you can repeat the process; gaining bucket loads of fertilizer in the process that you can use on your crops. You will never have to see Vesta again for fertilizer.

This also means that you do not have to place any other items in the Fertilizer Maker. You can keep the mushrooms, flowers, and other items that you find around Forgotten Valley for yourself. This is really important as there are some special flowers that you can use to create special crops!
