Where to Find Ether Onion in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7)

In FF7 Rebirth, Ether Onions are often found scattered around the Junon Region in Chapter 4, but you can also find small amounts in the Grasslands region. Like most materials, you can gather them right off the ground in specific areas.

Once you arrive in the Junon region, you’ll find Ether Onions pretty regularly, usually accompanied by other materials like Planet’s Benison and Planet’s Favor. They’re much more common here than in the Grasslands region.

In two locations, Ether Onions were found just slightly north and northeast of the Swamp.

Additionally, Ether Onions can sometimes be found on Bill’s Ranch. You can often pick up a few materials on the ground next to Chloe, the Chocobo Vendor in the stable, and sometimes those items will be Ether Onions.

What are Ether Onions Used For in FF7 Rebirth?

Ether Onions are considered a 3-star rarity material, so they’re certainly less common than the usual twigs and leaves you’ll find yourself collecting. According to their description, Ether Onions are bulbs that have absorbed raw magical essence.

As such, you’ll be able to transmute consumables that, as you’d expect, assist in casting magic!

Crafting via Transmutation is an invaluable mechanic in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and you would be wise to take advantage of it when you can. Not only will it save you tons of gil that you’d otherwise spend at vendors, but it encourages exploration that could lead to even greater rewards.
