RuneScape: Dragonwilds was shadow-dropped by Jagex, and it’s their take on the survival genre with a healthy dose of magic and dragons. Like other survival games, RuneScape: Dragonwilds features both a hunger and thirst meter that you need to keep track of if you want to survive in the wild.
Getting clean water is a high priority and doesn’t have any negative side effects. Here is how you can easily get clean water in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
Getting Clean Water in RuneScape Dragonwilds
To get clean water in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, locate some dirty water. The lush forests of RuneScape: Dragonwilds are full of streams, ponds, and lakes, so you can just waltz in and collect all the water you need.
- You don’t need a special pot to collect water, and simply spamming the E key will fill your inventory with loads of dirty water.

- Once you have enough, you need to boil the water and turn it into clean, drinkable water.
- For this, you need to first build a Campfire.
Structure | Materials Required |
---|---|
Campire | Ash Logs x4 Stone x4 |
- You can easily find ash logs and stones scattered around the world.

- Once you have the campfire set up, it’s time to boil the dirty water.

- Approach the campfire and drag Dirty Water at the top, and Ash Log to use as fuel.

Campfire Result | Required Materials |
---|---|
Clean Water x1 | Dirty Water x2 Fuel (Example: Ash log x1) |
Once you’re done boiling water, clean water will be added to your inventory. I recommend gathering a lot of dirty water because you don’t need much fuel to boil it. Stock up on clean water for later use so you don’t have to worry about the thirst meter all the time.
Each use of clean water fills up 20 points of the thirst/hydration meter.
Does Dirty Water Hydrate You in RuneScape: Dragonwilds?
Yes, dirty water can still hydrate you in RuneScape: Dragonwilds and can be used in emergencies. However, each time you consume it, it fills up your toxicity meter a little bit, which is denoted by the radioactive sign.

If you keep drinking dirty water, it will eventually fill up and you will be toxified. While you’re toxified, you will lose 10 health per second, which is quite a lot when you’re just starting out.

Compared to clean water, each use of dirty water fills up 10 points of your thirst instead.
Keeping an eye on your thirst meter is essential if you want to survive in RuneScape Dragonwilds. Thankfully, staying hydrated isn’t as difficult in this game compared to something like Grounded.
