While there is plenty of new Pokemon for players to discover, fan favorites like Charizard are staples of any team. So, how do you get Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? How to Get Charizard in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Charizard is only available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through a special in-game event. Black Crystal Tera Raid battles are a special multiplayer event that allows four players to team up to battle extra powerful Pokemon and attempt to catch them.

Nintendo has announced that the first special limited Pokemon available in this mode is Charizard. You can see the official announcement below.

“Charizard with the Mightiest Mark will be appearing in #PokemonScarletViolet! Charizard cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, but you’ll be able to find Charizard with a Dragon Tera Type at black Tera Raid crystals from 12/1 – 12/4 and 12/15 – 12/18!”

You won’t find Charizard usually in Paldea, but during this event, you’ll be able to catch it.

It’s important to note that only one Charizard can be caught per save file.

Players can take on Black Crystal Tera Raid battles after completing the game. However, if you team up with a friend who has met the requirements, you’ll have access to it before beating it. So make sure you’re ready to go before December 1, 2022.

Charizard may return in another form in the future, but for now, this is the only way to obtain it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
