There are plenty of exciting things to make in LEGO Fortnite, but one that seems to be warming up in all of our minds is the elusive Metal Smelter. But what ingredients do you need to craft this particular piece of machinery? Here’s how to make a metal smelter in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Get the Metal Smelter Recipe in LEGO Fortnite
Before you construct a Metal Smelter, you need to unlock its crafting recipe first. The first step is to reach Level 9 in your village, along with obtaining the following materials and enhancing your village rating:
- 15x Flexwood.
- 15x Obsidian.
- 10x Cut Amber.
To get Obsidian, head into a Lava Cave within a Dry Valley Biome—which is a vast, arid desert environment with cacti and high temperatures. Be prepared for the intense heat before exploring. In this biome, you can also collect Amber using an Uncommon Pickaxe, while Flexwood is sourced from cacti and can be gathered with a Rare Forest Axe.
How to Craft a Metal Smelter in LEGO Fortnite
If you’re hoping to start forging Copper Bars to make some better items, you’ll first need to get your hands on the Metal Smelter. If you’re hoping to create this particular piece of equipment, you’ll need the following items:
- 15 Brightcore.
- 35 Obsidian Slab.
- 3 Blast Cores.
How to Find Brightcore
To obtain Brightcore, find and enter Caves in the Desert Biome and mine the different Ores available to you with a Rare Pickaxe. You should find plenty before you leave, so you’ll have a fair number in your inventory. Obsidian is found within Lava Caves and can be processed into slabs using machinery or by building and leveling up a Village. Finally, Blast Cores can be found by defeating Blaster enemies, which can be found within the Lava Caves throughout the map.
Once you have obtained the Metal Smelter, you can get to work creating Copper Bars, which are very useful to have at any stage of the game. You’ll want to ensure that you’re stocked on resources before going into the Lava Caves, as they are excessively hot and full of a variety of enemies that could make things difficult for you. Equip a Sword and a Pickaxe before jumping in, and get ready to battle your way to victory.
