During The Pickup mission in Cyberpunk 2077, you learn that Brick, the former leader of Maelstrom, has been overthrown by Royce and is assumed dead. But as you leave All Foods, if you look in the right spot, you’ll discover him alive, trapped by a deadly laser. Here’s how to free Brick in Cyberpunk 2077.

How to Find Brick During The Pickup in Cyberpunk 2077

If you’ve yet to find Brick, you can do so on any of the possible The Pickup mission outcomes. Once you’ve grabbed the Flathead robot and gone through the maintenance tunnel, you’ll drop down into a large room. Defeat the enemies and move forward into the next room.

In this room, you’ll see two smaller glass rooms on the left-hand side. Sandwiched between them is a small, almost hidden room where you’ll find Brick being held hostage. The only problem is the door is locked. So, how do you get in?

How to Free Brick During The Pickup in Cyberpunk 2077

There are two ways to open the door to Brick. These are:

• Input the correct code into the keypad on the wall to the left of the door.
• Quickhack it using four RAM points.

If you don’t have enough RAM, you’ll have to find the code. Head into the glass room to the right of the door, where you’ll find a closed laptop on a table. Open it, and check the emails. Click on the one titled “only you guys know” to find the code, which is 9691.

Return to the door and input the code to open it. Inside, you’ll find Brick with a laser pointed at his chest; if he moves, he dies. It’s up to you whether you want to either leave him, kill him, or free him, but freeing him is the best option, as he’ll owe you a favor.

To disarm the laser, you have the following options:

• Disable it using a Detonator.
• If you have seven Technical Ability points, you can disarm it.

I didn’t have enough Technical Ability points to do this, so I had to use the Detonator. You can find the Detonator in the room to the left, where the closed laptop was. Look on the table just inside, and you’ll see it. Make sure you choose to disarm the trap because otherwise, Brick will die.

What Do You Get if You Free Brick in Cyberpunk 2077?

Now that you’ve freed Brick, V will tell him he owes them a favor. This is cashed in later on during the Second Conflict side quest, but only if you killed Royce. I won’t spoil what happens, but I’d definitely recommend freeing Brick.

If you still have the Credichip given to you by Meredith Stout by the time you finish The Pickup, you’ll want to decrypt it as you’ll get a free $10,000 Eddies from the Militech Datashard, which, at this point in Cyberpunk 2077, is a decent chunk of change.
