Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is one of the best releases of 2024 and comes to life thanks to the excellent id Tech 7 proprietary engine that previously powered DOOM Eternal. The PC release is clearly the standout version here with high-fidelity across the board and some extensive settings available to customize. It also has support for multiple input types including controllers on PC. However, if you can’t get your Xbox or PlayStation controllers to work correctly in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, here is how you can fix that.

Fixing the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Controller Issues

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has native support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers with correct in-game prompts as well. To make sure those controller profiles are correctly loaded, players need to disable Steam Input for the game.

  • Make sure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn’t running
  • Open Steam, and navigate to your library
  • Here, right-click on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and select Properties
  • In the Controller tab, select the Disable Steam Input option next to Override for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Once you do that, Steam Input won’t interfere with the PlayStation controllers, whether you’re using a DualShock 4 or a DualSense. Steam also confirms that multiple controllers apart from Xbox controllers have built-in support.

Upon plugging in a DualShock 4, the in-game button prompts changed to the proper PlayStation prompts as well. Even though the image below looks like a generic Xbox controller, the button prompts are correct.

You can also rebind the controls, whether you’re playing with a keyboard and mouse or a controller.

Check Detected Controllers

If you still can’t get your controllers to work, make sure Steam is detecting the ones you have plugged in. To check detected controllers in the Steam client, simply select Steam Settings Controller:

This will show which controllers are currently connected and being registered by the Steam client.

After you’re done fixing the controller issues, make sure to skip the intro videos, fix crashing, and access your local data in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
