Black Myth: Wukong is one of the most graphically impressive titles of the year and a true showcase for Unreal Engine 5, especially on PC. The game has tons of settings to tweak and support for modern technologies like upscale and frame generation. However, its ultrawide support is lacking, especially beyond certain aspect ratios. We have Lyall to thank again, as their tool for Black Myth: Wukong also addresses these ultrawide issues.

The patch created by Lyall removes the 21:9 aspect ratio limit and allows players to customize the FOV in Black Myth: Wukong.

Here is how you can install it:

  • Make sure Black Myth: Wukong isn’t running
  • Head over to the following GitHub link
  • Download the patch file by clicking the WukongTweak_v0.8.1.zip under assets (It’s possible there is a new version of this if you’re reading this at a later date)
  • Extract the zip file in the game’s installation folder. The default Steam address is the following:

\steamapps\common\BlackMythWukong

That’s all you really have to do. Make sure that “Aspect Ratio” is set to “Automatic” in the Display menu. Adjust the FOV according to your needs because, by default, it will be a bit zoomed out.

All credits go to Lyall for creating and testing the patch. Their work is incredibly useful, especially with recent releases like Thank Goodness You’re HereShin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut.

You can also adjust the sharpening filter using the same patch and even disable it entirely. This can also get rid of the excessive vignette effect, as well as chromatic aberration, for an overall sharper image. We hope that the developers consider expanding their support for even wider resolutions so players don’t have to download additional patches.
