How to Find the Thresher Waterwheel Caches in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – Exact Locations

Once you leave the city of Kalm, you’ll see a waterwheel jutting out over the sea of grass. This is the Thresher Waterwheel, and for most players, it’s the first cache point of interest they’ll stumble across. Approach the Thresher Waterwheel, and you’ll get a prompt to “locate the treasure.” At the Thresher Waterwheel, there are two chests to find. Both are close to each other.

To find those chests, ensure you’re near the large waterwheel at the top of the hill. There’s a smaller one downriver, but there’s nothing of interest there. Once you’re at the large waterwheel, you’ll want to go behind it. The first cache is beside the large wooden column, tucked away in the corner.

It’s in the shadows, so be on the lookout for the golden orange lights of the chest. Once you open it, you’ll get a Mist Potion. Mist Potions are fantastic, as they’ll heal all allies for 350 HP.

Our next chest is only a few yards away. From the position of the Mist Potion chest, turn right and head towards the brick column that’s just beneath the archway. It’s standing alone and half-destroyed, so it’s easy to spot. Go behind this brick column, and you’ll find the second chest.

This time, you’ll find a Hi-Potion within. While the Mist Potion is great for healing your entire team, the Hi-Potion will restore 700 HP to one person.

While you’re here, it’s a good idea to collect some of the rarer materials scattered around. There are crates near the wheel you can break to get Moogle Medals. And rivers are a great source of Numinous Ashes and the Planet’s Blessing, so be sure to stock up before you go.
