To get the most out of the Lunar Awakening event in Diablo 4, you need to search for Lunar Shrines that allow you to build up some of the Ancestor’s Favor. This guide will outline where you can find them and how they work in Season 3.
Where to Find Lunar Shrines in Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening
Lunar Shrines can be found around Sanctuary as Grim Favors marked with purple stars, in world events, or as random spawns within dungeons. Searching the open world map is your best bet because they are all easily marked. There is a chance that the shrine won’t be available when you arrive, but nearly every single Grim Favor shrine has appeared.
When you approach one of the Lunar Shrines that are marked on the Sanctuary map, your next task is to cleanse them. Simply activate the shrine and then kill any of the monsters that appear. Ancestor’s Favor and the temporary XP buff are given in this period, and you can typically find a world event in the vicinity once you’re finished.
Lunar Shrine Locations in Diablo 4:
- Scattered around Sanctuary and marked with purple stars on the map.
- Found within dungeons.
- Can spawn in local world events.
- Guaranteed to spawn in Nightmare Dungeons with Ancestor’s Favor Affix.
Not every world event will provide you with a Lunar Shrine in Diablo 4. However, you can see if one is marked in the center before you attempt it. Just keep in mind that these shrine events aren’t marked on the world map like the standard Lunar Shrine Grim Favors. They need to be discovered as you move around the map.
Dungeons are your last reliable way to find the Lunar Awakening shrines. Standard dungeons and Vaults will only have a chance for the event pieces to appear. If you can get a Nightmare Sigil with an Ancestor’s Favor Affix, though, the dungeon is guaranteed to be filled with Lunar Shrines. So start grinding those out if you want to fast-track the event rewards.
If you haven’t seen the rewards yet, don’t forget to start the Lunar Awakening event in Ked Bardu.
