Where to Find Tracktail Lizards in Monster Hunter Wilds

The most common place to find Tracktail Lizards is in Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains region. In Area 13, you can place a campsite at the Oasis and fast-travel there to find Tracktail Lizards. You will find many of them near the Oasis, but you will have to go there during the daytime as they appear more often then.

Get on your Seikret and roam the area, and you should soon find some Tracktail Lizards. You are looking for creatures built like Otters and a long tail on which they can stand. They will always be in pairs next to each other and will stand on their tails to look around the area.

How to Capture Tracktail Lizards in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Tracktail Lizards are always aware of their environment and will run and hide in the sand if you get too close to them. You can capture the lizards using a Capture Net. Equip the Capture Net to your Hook Slinger and aim at the lizards. When the aiming reticle turns orange, shoot it to capture the creatures. However, you will have to get close to them for the aiming reticle to turn orange.

The trick to getting close to a Tracktail Lizard is to approach them with the Ghillie Mantle active to stay hidden and then shoot your Capture Net at the right time. Another way is to get close to them while riding on your Seikret and shoot the Capture Net as you go past them. However, this method is difficult as you have to be close and aim perfectly for the Capture Net to land.

These are all the ways you can capture a Tracktail Lizard in Monster Hunter Wilds. Capturing a Tracktail Lizard is part of Dareel’s Research Report side quest. When you have captured the lizard, head back to Dareel, and you will get 10x Honey and 50x Guild Points.
