How To Attack Flying Enemies in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Video by Prima Games

To bring the fight to a flying foe, you’re going to want to take control of Cloud Strife during the fight. Sending him skyrocketing to the skies is much easier than anticipated, but never explicitly explained during any of the combat tutorials, so follow along with these instructions and you’ll be ready and armed:

  • Perform a quick dodge (Circle Button)
  • Press and hold the Standard Attack Button (Square Button)
  • Tap away or use Attack Shortcuts to take down enemies

No matter if you’re going after small enemies like the Fleetwing in the video above, or you’re hoping to inflict plenty of damage on the many larger foes you encounter, this incredibly helpful piece of information can make your combat experience go from drab to fab quickly.

Which Abilities Work Best While Airborne in Final Fantasy V7 Rebirth?

One of Cloud’s abilities in particular can cause massive damage at any point in the game, especially when airborne. Using Braver while in the skies will unlock the potential of this already deadly ability, allowing you to not only get a few slashes off in the air but also the chance to smash your foe directly into the ground in a fit of rage. You’ll also deal a tremendous amount of damage this way, making plenty of early-game fights conclude in a matter of moments — unless you’re using the Dynamic Difficulty, where you’ll still need to lay down some extra pain on your foes.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on our Final Fantasy VII Rebirth section below to learn more about the game, and find out all of the unlockable outfits for your favorite characters.
