How to Fast Travel in The First Descendant

You also get a cool animation for fast travelling.

The First Descendant is a big world with multiple regions and a central island. Depending on your quests, you’ll jump from one area to another frequently, and the mission tracker might confuse you if you aren’t in the right region. Luckily, you can teleport from one place to another, and here’s how to fast travel in The First Descendant.

How to Use Fast Travel in The First Descendant

Fast traveling is crucial to moving from one region to another. Technically, there is no other way to move to a different region without using the fast travel feature. To fast travel, open the map by pressing M or Up on the D-pad. There are different buttons that open the map, like G, View Button, or the Touch Pad, so you can familiarize yourself with our controls guide for all platforms.

Look for a green circular icon known as Outposts. Long-press the interact button on it to quickly travel to the location.

In The First Descendant, you can only fast travel to Outposts and Temporary Safe Zones, but they’ll automatically unlock if you reach a certain part of the story. For example, you’ll start your journey in the Kingston region. The region has three areas: The Fallen Theatre, The Destruction, and the Grand Square. If you go through the main mission in The Destruction, it’ll lead to a different area, like the Fallen Theatre.

Once you are on that mission, the Outpost will unlock, and you have to fast travel to that Outpost to reach the area. If you finish the whole Kingstone region, your main mission might bring you back to Albion or a completely different region. If your main quest is in a different area, it will not show up in your current region, and you have to open the map to fast travel.

Here are some fast traveling tips you should know:

  • You can fast travel even between missions if you are not in combat.
  • Missions might bring you to another accessible area, but it is still best to check if there is a new unlocked fast travel point or Outpost. Saving up on travel time means leveling faster!
  • All the items you looted still carry over when you fast travel.
  • You can’t fast travel to Void Missions, Battlefield Missions, and other points of interest.
