Monster Hunter Wilds players can craft weapons by visiting the blacksmith, Gemma, at the Smithy in Base Camp. She will always be at the main camps around the map. It is near the middle of the Base Camp next to the player’s tent and exit to the rest of the environment.

Talk to her and select Forge/Upgrade Equipment, then pick one of the 14 weapon categories for the weapon you would like to craft. You will see the tree of weapons for the specific category, regardless if you can craft it or not.

The base weapons start at the left of the tree, so select one to see the cost and its stats. The first weapon will only cost Zenny if you need an extra, but later weapons will require both the money and monster parts/materials. Choose the weapon and confirm the prompt to craft the weapon.

Players can also upgrade their weapons at Gemma through the same weapon tree. While the base weapons are on the left-hand side, the upgrades are the nodes to the right connected to it. Forging an upgrade will replace the base weapon.

Upgrades also cost Zenny and monster parts/resources. You can see the list of components required so long as you have found at least one of the resources. Players can also track upgrades by opening the Sub-Menu and selecting Add to Wishlist on the next potential upgrade. Doing this will have the game notify you when you have enough resources to forge the weapon or upgrade.
