Skull and Bones features a handful of crafting and gathering tools to allow you to explore the game’s surroundings to new effects. One is the Crowbar, which is helpful for pillaging shipwrecks, and here’s how to craft one!
How to Craft a Crowbar in Skull and Bones
As part of the game’s initial set of contracts, you will receive your first Crowbar shortly after the prologue and subsequent shipwreck. You must sail through the wreckage of the Exeter, disembark on the nearby island, and speak with the Pirate Chief Officer. He’ll ask you to find a few goods lost on the sea, and you’ll duke it out with a handful of great white sharks for said loot. But once you have it, return for your first Crowbar.
But it’s only the first one that’s free. After that, you must gather the appropriate materials to upgrade your Crowbar. For example, to acquire Crowbar II, you must obtain the following resources:
- Cast Iron Ingot
- Fine Jute
Plus, it will use up your Crowbar I. But that’s okay because you’re about to get a better tool that allows you to scavenge larger shipwrecks quicker. It’s pretty helpful in acquiring loot to sell back at Sainte-Anne.
Where to Use the Crowbar in Skull and Bones
As you roam the world of Skull and Bones, you will inevitably stumble upon various shipwrecks, some big and some small, on the many islands dotting the high seas. At first glance, these wrecks look like lore pieces or flavor items, but if you sail close enough, you’ll find that you can stop your ship and break in to find loot.
The only way to break in, of course, is by using a Crowbar. For the Small Factionless Shipwreck, you need Crowbar I. But for the larger ships, like a galleon, you’ll want at least Crowbar II to break through the destruction and find the treasure within. It’s best to upgrade your tools once you acquire the materials.
Don’t hesitate to stop and loot these shipwrecks, as you may find something useful, like Bronze Ingots!
