BitLife challenges are designed to have you face some fairly complex tasks, so working through them on your own can be rather tough. If any part of this one has you stumped, here’s how to complete the Humbug Challenge in BitLife.

To complete the Humbug Challenge in BitLife, you must work through five key goals:

  • Become a CEO.
  • Summon a ghost.
  • Insult 10+ co-workers before age 60.
  • Make no friends until after age 60.
  • Give 10+ gifts to friends after age 60.

Author’s note: At the time of writing, there is a visual glitch in this challenge where the insult 10+ co-workers before age 60 task and the make no friends until after age 60 task are swapped. This can make completing this challenge extra confusing, but still possible, so read on to learn how to get around this.

Become a CEO in BitLife

Your first goal is quite a lofty one, which is to become a CEO. This is a long-term goal that requires you to take many careful steps throughout your entire life. Here’s how to get it done.

  • Build the Smarts stat as much as possible. Throughout school, focus on studying, visiting the library, and performing any other activities you can to build your Smarts, as you’ll need to be very proficient in this skill to gain a CEO job.
  • Attend university and choose a business-related degree. Once you’re done with basic school, you’ll want to enroll in university. Select a business degree, or something similar, like marketing or finance.
  • Apply to business school. After succeeding in college, apply to business school to continue on the right path.

  • Get a corporate job. It’s finally time to get a job, specifically one in the corporate world. Look for any role that has the “Corporate” title in parentheses at the end of it.
  • Work your way up the ranks. Higher-ranking positions won’t be available right away, so put in years of work to slowly climb the ladder. The first major jump you’re looking for is an Assistant Vice President, and once you’ve got that role, you can climb higher to become a Vice President, Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, Managing Director, and eventually, CEO.

Summon a Ghost in BitLife

Your next major goal in this challenge is to summon a ghost. You can complete this task by purchasing a Haunted House, selecting the Spirits tab, and choosing a ghost to summon.

First up, you need to get your hands on a Haunted House. Since you’re a CEO or working your way up to becoming one, you should have some decent funds on hand, so choose any home that has the word “haunted” in the title to get started.

Next, click on your Haunted House, scroll down to the Spirits tab, and select the Summon option. Repeat this process until you manage to successfully summon a ghost.

Insult 10+ Co-workers Before Age 60 in BitLife

The next objective is to insult at least 10 co-workers before you turn 60. You’ll need a job to get this task done, so you’ll either need to get a temporary one early on or get this quest done quickly once you’re done with college.

The insult option is a bit hidden, so here’s a full walkthrough of how to tackle this task.

  • Click on the Job tab in the bottom left corner.
  • Select your current occupation, which is at the very top of this page.
  • Choose the co-workers page, which is right under activities.
  • Select any co-worker on this page.
  • Scroll down and select the Insult option.
  • Repeat this process 10 times before you reach age 60.

Make No Friends Until After Age 60 in BitLife

It’s a lonely life for you, as one of your key goals in this challenge is to avoid making any friends until after you turn 60. As of the time of writing, this task and the insult at least 10 co-workers before you turn 60 are swapped on the challenge checklist, which means completing one actually checks off the other. As long as you finish both tasks, you’ll still be able to get this trial done, so don’t worry too much about how the checklist looks.

To ensure you make no friends until after age 60, avoid socializing in a positive manner with everyone. If any character asks to be your friend, be sure to deny the request, and if you notice a positive relationship bar with anyone, consider performing rude actions like insulting them or fighting them to keep all friendships at bay.

Your final quest is to give at least 10 gifts to friends after you turn 60. To do so, click on the Relationships page to the right of the age up button, select any character who has the friend label next to them, and scroll down to select the Gift option.

With this mission done, you’ve officially completed the full Humbug Challenge. There are plenty of other tricky tasks worth tackling, too, so if you’re up for the challenge, some good ones to work on are Gimme Gimme, Mistress of the Dark, and Tortured Artist.
