How to Beat Calling All Frogs Side Quest in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (FF7)

Under Junon has its own problems, beyond monsters in the deep an oppressive Shinra presence above. And the Frogmaster has called any nearby heroes to swoop in and solve their problems.

To unlock the Calling All Frogs quest, head over to the Community Board in the Fish’s Net Tavern on the main level of Under Junon. If you’ve just arrived, you’ll find that three quests are immediately available: When Words Won’t Do, Stuck in a Rut, and Calling All Frogs. Unfortunately, the quest doesn’t give you much direction beyond “Ribbit.”

Leave the tavern and head down the stairs in front of the inn. This will take you to the beach. Follow the beach left, going past the platform where you faced off against the Terror of the Deep. You’ll reach an opening covered in a pink mist, with frogs hiding within.

The frogs will leap out and reveal they’re actually kids. Something about the mist here will turn you into a frog if you enter it. Monsters will then appear, and you’ll be forced to fight if you want to complete this quest. Enter the mist and get ready to brawl.

How to Fight as a Frog in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Fighting as a frog is easier than you might think. You don’t have access to spells, but you do have access to your standard attack with the square button, a unique ability called Leapfrog, which allows you to leap into the air and crush your opponent for devastating damage, and the O button, which will allow you to dodge attacks. Your companions will also join in the brawl with you.

  • Standard Attack – Square.
  • Dodge – Circle.
  • Jump – Right trigger.
  • Ability – Leapfrog. Leap into the air and crash on an enemy for significant damage. Costs one ATB.

Once you’ve taken out the enemies, the kids will invite you to play a game. And, in my opinion, it blows Fort Condor out of the water.

How to Play Jumpfrog in FF7 Rebirth

The game is simple. Your goal is to stay on the platform for as long as possible, ideally 1:20 seconds. To do this, you’ll need to jump over the moving wooden arm that circles the platform. However, there’s a second arm right above the first that also rotates. And at the 30-second mark, two parts of the platform will fall away.

You can use R2 to crawl quickly around the wheel. Use the Circle button to leap over the moving farm. The best way to succeed at Jumpfrog is to stay close to the center as the platform is moving. But there’s an easy way to get to the 30-second point and beyond.

For the first 30 seconds of the game, use the R2 button to sprint towards the center of the platform, then follow the bottom arm around the circle. Continue doing this until the thirty-second mark, when two parts of the wheel fall away. At this point, you’ll need to start jumping over the arms. You’ll need to periodically adjust your opinion to avoid being smacked by the upper arm when it gets close.

Once you complete the game, you’ll get the Enfeeblement Ring so long as you stay at least 30 seconds on the wheel. The Enfeeblement Ring grants Toad at the start of battle, so the froggy fun never has to stop. Thus ends the quest, but you can play the minigame as many times as you like. But for each rank you complete, you can get another Enfeeblement Ring. And with three of them, your entire combat squad can be Toads. Nice!

Completing this quest will also upgrade your standing with Tifa, grant you 500 EXP, and give you 10 Party Points. But don’t let the party stop there. Rhonda is just upstairs, and she needs some help with her side quest When Words Won’t Do.
