How to Get the Heritage Gun in Deathloop

In order to start this task, you’ll need to visit Karl’s Bay in the evening. Once you’re there head to the Fathoms of Lament on the east side of town. This is slightly before the Hangar area of the map.

Once you find the building head inside to see a map of Karl’s Bay with glowing dots scattered around. Each of these glowing dots is a location that has a small brown parcel with a glowing dot on it. Head to each of these locations to find the gift.

This is tricky for a few different reasons. Outside of just having to actually locate the gifts, some of them have special minigames that need to be completed to actually open them. If you shoot/melee/explode the gift prematurely you will LOSE and have to revisit this task on a completely different loop.

The gift’s location seems somewhat random so don’t take this screenshot of the map as fact, but make sure to check your own in-game. You’ll have to go up to each gift and hit square to interact with each one, but be sure to keep your distance because some of them will explode, killing Colt.

While not all of them require guides, we did take the time to walk you through some of the tougher ones.

Hangar 2 Gift

The Hangar 2 gift is tricky at first, but there’s actually a way to make your life much easier. When you enter Hangar 2 through the connecting bridge from hangar 1, you’ll notice the gift is blinking, which means you can’t open it until you complete the game in Hangar 2.

Before starting the game, go around the Hangar and hop over into the office, go downstairs and into the cockpit of the plane protruding out of the wall. This is where the gas dispenser is and will remove the toxic gas coating the floor from the equation.

It’s not necessary to do this, but it will make your life a lot easier. Now head back to the gift location and pull the lever to the right of it. This will start a countdown and you’ll need to pull five other levers around the hangar in a specific order to win. Let’s walk through each one.

Pull the lever next to the present, then hope over the plane in the middle and across to the other scaffold in the hangar. There will be a lever to your left. Pull this one and then head across the plane protruding out of the wall on your right. You’ll see a lever right below the second wing of the plane.

Dropdown and pull that one. Then follow the path and head back to the plane in the middle of the hangar. This time when you’re facing the plane from the entrance go right and you’ll see another lever.

Pull that one, then jump back on the plane in the middle and go left to the area where you pulled the second lever and there will be a lever on that same scaffold but closer towards where you just pulled the most recent one.

After pulling that one, pull the final lever on the plane in the middle. Congrats now go claim the gift by the first lever.

The Forest Gift

There is a gift in the forest building in Karl’s Bay that requires a keycode to get in. The password is actually scattered around this building in the form of artwork. You can find directly above the passcode lock a drawing to the keylock.

The red painting symbolizes which number is part of the password and the red scratch in the middle of the circle indicates where that number appears in the four-number sequence.

This drawing is much more straightforward than the other three because the other ones will only provide you with half to password diagram and you’ll have to use perspective to line them up. We’ve provided screenshots to help show what we mean, but just be aware it might not be the same code as yours.

After you enter the password just go up and claim the gift.

The Final Test

After you have claimed every gift around Karl’s Bay (there are eight of them total) Head back to Fathoms of Lament and look for the door on the right-hand side. If you’ve done it correctly the door will have eight green lights above it.

If any of them are red, that means you made a mistake and will have to retry on a different loop. If all of them are green you can head into the final trial. That’s right, we are dealing with another lever game.

This one is tricker than the one in the hangar because there are moving lasers that if you get hit will end the game and you’ll have to pull the first lever again. However, there is a way to make this easier on you.

Before you pull the first lever, break the wood boards against the wall and hack the Field Nullifier to turn it off. This will let you use your slab powers to complete this trial. We recommend using Aether because it won’t trigger any laser and allow you to pass through them when it’s activated.

As for the actual lever pulling, each one will beep so just listen for which one you need next and always be popping Aether to get through any lasers.

After you complete the final puzzle head back to the room with the map where this all started. Next to the map, the Heritage Gun locker will be open and you can claim it for yourself. Just remember to infuse it when you escape!
