Trainers will be able to take advantage of the increased chance of capturing a Piplup and possibly its shiny version when the January 2020 community event begins on January 19th at 11 AM to 2 PM in the northern hemisphere and 3 PM to 6 PM in the southern hemisphere.

Players can also receive a Piplup by hatching eggs they get from spinning Pokestops during the January 2020 Community Day event hours.

However, your chances of obtaining this particular character will lessen following the conclusion of the January 2020 Community Day event. This limited-time period means individuals who are wanting to add this water-type creature to their teams will want to make sure they are playing the high-profile title throughout the January 2020 Community Day event hours. Doing so will give themselves the best chance of being successful at this endeavor.
