Have you ever wondered which Hogwarts house you belong to? Have you ever secretly dreamed about having your own wand when reading Harry Potter?
In the opening chapters of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery, one of the first things you’ll have to do to get situated in magic school is get yourself a new wand.
Your wand choice is determined by the way you respond during a dialogue scene with Ollivander. Follow the steps below to find out the types of wands available and which wand choice is right for you in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Wand Choices
Early on in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery you’ll need to choose a wand that suits your personality. After creating your character, you’ll be tasked with visiting the wandmaker Ollivander to get your first wand.
Rather than picking a wand directly, your wand choice is determined by the answer you give for a specific question while speaking with Ollivander. You will be granted one of three wands depending on your response.
When you visit Ollivander, he will have you try out a series of wands to get a feel for your personality. Ollivander will eventually ask you a personal question regarding how you felt about your brother being previously expelled from Hogwarts.
Below are the three types of wands you can get in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, along with the answer you must choose to receive the one you want from Ollivander.
-
Acacia Wand – A piable 12-inch wand made of Acacia and a unicorn core. Suitable for witches and wizards with a sensitive side. Select “I felt bad for him” to receive the Acacia Wand.
-
Blackthorn Wand – An 11-and-three-quarter-inch Blackthorn wand with a core made of unicorn hair. Best for feisty wizards with a lot of fight in them. Choose “I was angry” to be given the Blackthorn Wand.
-
Hornbeam Wand – An 11-inch inflexible wand made of Hornbeam and has a dragon heartstring core. Meant for wizards who are passionate and determined. This is the same type of wand used by Ollivander himself. Choose “I was determined” to receive the Hornbeam Wand.
That’s it! Once you choose an answer, Ollivander will grant you the appropriate wand for your response. From here, you can finish getting situated in Hogwarts by meeting Rowan, getting sorted into a house, and buying books.
