Genshin Impact Spices From the West: Northerly Search Event Guide and Rewards

Let us cook

The final event with Primogems in Genshin Impact 3.5 is here at last. Spices From the West: Northerly Search is an upgraded version of a previous special cooking event in which you add special seasonings to your already good-looking dishes to turn them into their definitive versions. The kitchen is now located in Mondstadt, and your goal is to collect a few of the region’s specialties as a result.

The most important part is that after completing a dish, you can give it to your characters inside your Teapot. This is where all of those food-related voicelines are used, and it helps boost their Friendship Level if you’re aiming for specific Character Cards for your profile. Time to cook!

The event will be running from March 31 to April 10 (one day before the next update), and requires players to be at least at Adeventure Rank 20 or higher to participate. You need to reach AR 28 to unlock the Serenitea Pot and invite your characters to it, though. After meeting those requirements, follow the A Visitor from Westward Realms: The Flavor of Freedom quest to start progressing through the event.

A new objective will be unlocked daily. To create a new seasoning, you need to press Space/X/touch the screen at the exact moment the bar touches the required ingredients. Just beware of possible input delays and high latency. You can then add the specific seasoning to a few selected dishes.

Rewards include a total of x420 Primogems as well as a good amount of Mora, Hero’s Wit, and various Mondstadt Talent Books. As a bonus, you can give those special dishes to your characters in the Teapot to get extra Companionship EXP. Friendship levels will unlock new voicelines up until level 6, and you get that character’s exclusive Profile card when reaching level 10.

To know exactly which dish you should offer to which character, your best bet is to go to their voicelines and look at the “Favorite Food” and “Least Favorite Food” ones, where they’ll tell you what their dos and don’ts are.

If you manage to give them something they enjoy, they’ll respond with their “Receiving a Gift: I” line. Anything in between will most likely give the II, and offering them what they absolutely despise will give you the III voiceline.
