With the release of the latest Chapter 6 in Fortnite, new and unique mechanics are introduced in the game, and one of them is a variety of Sprites. What exactly are these adorable critters up to and what is their purpose? Learn all about it in this guide.
What are Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1
Sprites are cuddly little creatures representing different elements that roam throughout the new map in Fortnite Chapter 6. These elements include Air, Water, and Earth. Once you find a Sprite near you, pick it up and add it to your inventory.
You can then return the Sprites to the Sprite Shrine or use them as a throwable. Each Sprite has its own unique ability, which is listed below:
Sprite | Use |
---|---|
Air Sprite | Creates an updraft that launches the player into the air, allowing them to open their glider. |
Water Sprite | Creates a fountain that heals the player with 30 Health or Shield initially while healing for 2 Health or Shield after every second. Players can use the Water Sprite again after 20 seconds of cooldown. |
Earth Sprite | Gives the players a random item of a better rarity when they feed it an item from their loadout. |
How to Find Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 6
Air and Water Sprites are most commonly found in any named locations on the map, as you will see them roaming around the open fields. However, the Earth Sprite is the hardest to find as it remains at a static location and spawns at random locations on the map. It is also rare to come across the Earth Sprite compared to the Air and Water Sprite.
One guaranteed way to get a Sprite is by visiting a Sprite Shrine. These are located all over the map, and you will find one in every named location. You will be able to see a white beam of light coming from the shrines in the sky as a beacon. The image below shows the Sprite Shrine locations on the map.
Once you reach the Sprite Shrine, you will find two regular chests and the shrine in the middle, with which you can interact to reveal the locations of nearby Sprites. The locations will be marked on your map with blue and yellow icons, where blue represents Water Sprites and yellow Air Sprites.
As for the Earth Sprite, you will have to use all of your luck to be able to find them. These are the rarest, and the most common spots you can find them are in Flooded Frogs and Demon’s Dojo.
If you bring an Air or Water Sprite back to the Sprite Shrine and return it to the shrine, you will get two random Sprites in return, along with an Epic rarity weapon and a random Boon.
That is all on the newly added Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 6. To learn more about Boons in Fortnite, take a look at our guide on what are Boons and how to collect them.
