FFXVI Pre Release Update Patch Notes

Final Fantasy XVI 1.02 Pre-Release Update Patch Notes

The Day -2 Patch

No game is perfect, and that’s why we see so many Day One updates for new titles nowadays. Final Fantasy XVI is no exception to this, but it kind of is at the same time. Well, technically, at least. The developing team announced a pre-release patch to fix some issues they noticed after shipping the game, but there’s a small catch to it (and it’s not the file size).

The update aims at fixing some small performance issues and a specific game-crashing bug that, according to their announcement notes, is so rare that’s almost impossible to happen in normal circumstances.

And since it’s not essential for a full experience, players will be able to play the game in its entirety whether they download this extra patch or not, regardless of their copy being digital or physical. Also, the update will be available on June 20 alongside Preload, so it’s technically not a Day One patch.

Yeah, it’s not a big patch in any way. The update size is also approximately 300 MB, so you can definitely take an extra minute or two to get it before launching the game. Its small size also makes it different from most Day One patches, which are usually quite big. You do have to download it separately from the pre-load, and this one is quite big by itself.
