Being such a huge update, the Dawntrial expansion for FFXIV is already set to be way harsher on lower-end computers. During the FFXIV Fan Fest 2023 announcements, we were presented with the game’s newest system requirements, so it might be time to get a few upgrades here and there! This is the minimum you’ll need to play Final Fantasy XIV from now on.
Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail System Requirements
If you really want to keep the game running smoothly, it would definitely be a great idea to start getting some new pieces right now. Dawntrail is not coming out before Summer 2024, but it’s better to be prepared. Below are the new requirements following the Dawntrail update.

As you can see, many of the “Recommended” settings are now considered the “Minimum.” This comes as no surprise considering how long the game has been around. And in case you were worried, the game will still have PS4 support, although Yoshida advised players to get a PS5 if possible. Definitely not to help promote FFXVI, of course.
Dawntrail is pushing the game to its limits, getting even more system changes, duties, and a big graphical update to the table, all in preparation for a new chapter in the game’s life.
