FFXIV: How to Get the Lynx Of Fallen Shadow Mount

Meaner villains to beat, bigger cats to tame

FFXIV Lynx of Fallen Shadow

From horses to gwibers, FFXIV loves to reward players with interesting mounts after they clear some of the hardest challenges. With each new trial, a new mount is added to this list, and the most dedicated players will immediately run after them. The x Lynx was that mount for the 6.4 Patch, and you have to best the patch’s big bad before you can ride it. Here’s how to get the Lynx of Fallen Shadow in Final Fantasy XIV.

How to Obtain the Lyxn of Fallen Shadow Mount in FFXIV

This edgy cat drops from The Voidcast Dais (Extreme) Trial (AKA Golbez EX) at a low rate. Players need an average Item Level of 630 or higher to enter the duty, but the more gear you have, the better. The fight is a huge step up compared to its MSQ counterpart (which isn’t exactly a pushover either), so be prepared.

Once the mount finally drops, all eight players have an equal shot at rolling for them, and the biggest number takes the prize. Once someone gets a mount, they cannot roll for it anymore, so it’s one less head to compete with it.

Mounts from Extreme Trials are untradeable, so you cannot sell them or buy them from the Market Board. The item has a low drop chance, so you’ll be stuck here for a while if you really dig that oversized cat.

Each clear will get you a Voidcast Archefiend Totem, which can be used to buy weapons or the mount itself from Nesvaas at (X:10.6, Y:10) in Radz-at-Han. The mount costs 99 Totems, but it won’t be available for purchase until a few patches later

How to Unlock The Voidcast Dais (Extreme) Trial in FFXIV

The Voidcast Dais (Extreme) can be unlocked by speaking with the Wandering Minstrel in (X: 12.7,Y: 14.2) at Old Sharlayan after completing the 6.4 Main Story Quests (ending in The Dark Throne). Reaper-cosplaying Yoshi-P will tell you about an alternative version of the battle where Golbez didn’t hold any punches, and now you gotta deal with that.

Bring your friends, your FC or the good and old Party Finder groups to face up against this challenge, and good luck!
