FFXIV: How to Get the Rubellite Weapon Minion

Small lean tacos, so small!

You thought that glowy weapons were all that the Ruby Weapon could give us years after its release in FFXIV? This brand-new collectible is right here telling you wrong! The Ruby Weapon Minion was one of the many items introduced in the 6.4 patch The Dark Throne, and possibly one of the cutest too.

Grabbing this diminutive weapon of mass destruction is quite simple, but may require you some extra time farming, so let’s get to it! Here’s how to get the Rubellite Weapon Minion in Final Fantasy XIV.

How to Obtain the Rubellite Weapon Minion in FFXIV

The Rubellite Weapon minion is another reward for the Crystalline Conflict (PvP) Series Malmstones at Level 15. It will only be available during the 6.4 patch Series, and you won’t be able to get it later. Each series last the same as a major patch cycle (around four months), so you have plenty of time to farm for your smol weapon. If you thought you could get it by farming the Ruby Weapon itself, too bad. Now go hit those bodies!

After playing enough PvP matches, open the Character menu and select PvP Profile > Series Malmstones to check your current progress. The minion can be claimed as soon as you reach Level 15, but you’ll have to collect all previous rewards too, so don’t neglect them.

How to Get Series Exp Faster

Any PvP match will give you a varying amount of Series Experience points, but Crystalline Conflict is the fastest mode for farming it. Victories grant you 900 points while defeats still give you 700.

Since winning is objectively faster for points, practicing a single job and getting really good at it is usually better than being flexible, but don’t hesitate in switching between them until you find the one that really clicks with you. I tried Ninja for a long time, but Bard’s where my PvP roots are at.

But if you really can’t stand being jumped on by four players while your team is munching on popcorn, you can slowly farm it through Frontlines.

Their overall duration was reduced in 6.4 and they now have a nice Series Exp bonus for the daily Roulette completion. You also get tons of regular Exp and Tomestones for an alt job while you’re at it. All at the cost of around 10 mins inside a duty. That’s a win/win for me.
