NBA 2K25 has now been officially announced by 2K Sports and Visual Concepts, and it’s the latest entry in the yearly sports franchise. Like the previous entry, NBA 2K25 is coming to multiple current and last-generation platforms, including PC and the Nintendo Switch. However, does NBA 2K25 have cross-progression support? Here is everything you need to know.

Does NBA 2K25 have Cross-Progression Support?

NBA 2K25 has cross-progression support between the same console family. This means that if you’re playing on the PS4, you can pick up your progress on the PS5, and vice-versa. This is the same case for Xbox platforms. NBA 2K25 does not have cross-progression support for PC or the Nintendo Switch.

This confirmation comes directly from the FAQ section on NBA 2K25’s website.

Q: Will there be cross-gen progression in NBA 2K25?

NBA 2K25 features MyTEAM Cross-Progression and a Shared VC Wallet within the same console family (PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S). MyTEAM Cross-Progression enables all MyTEAM Points, cards and progress to be shared across both versions of NBA 2K25 on generations of consoles in the same console family. Similarly, the Shared VC Wallet allows any earned or purchased VC to be accessible across generations of consoles in the same console family.

Similar to its lackluster crossplay support, cross-progression is almost quite limited here. PC and Nintendo Switch versions have been completely excluded from this feature, just like for crossplay support, even though a 2K Sports Account is required to access the multiplayer component.

NBA 2K25 Release Date

NBA 2K25 is coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on September 6, 2024.

We doubt any improvements to cross-progression will be added to this entry, but we hope that future releases have more robust support for multiple platforms.
