Does Foamstars Have A Single-Player Mode?

Is there a Story Mode in Foamstars?

If you’re hoping to jump into Foamstars and get accustomed to how the game plays, there is a great tutorial right at the start that prepares you for multiplayer fun. Is there any value here for those hoping to play Solo, however?

Can You Play Foamstars Single-Player? – Answered

If you’re hoping to play some Foamstars without going up against other players, you may be surprised to learn that some sections of the game can be played single-player. When you’re in the main menu, rather than selecting the Versus option, you’ll want to select Missions.

By pressing in on the Dualshock 4 or DualSense touchpad, you’ll have the option to choose from a variety of different things. No matter if you’re hoping to purchase the Premium Season Pass or customize your favorite character, you can find it all in the City Map. You’ll also find the Missions option, which you’ll want to select.

Within the Foamulab, you’ll have the option to partake in some simple missions that will give you a rough idea about the Foamstar of your choice. While the two unlockable characters are not available to try in this mode, it gives players a great opportunity to test out all of the other available Foamstars and see who may work the best for them. While the full squad is great to play, some are better for beginners to learn with.

Is The Solo Mode Worth Playing in Foamstars?

To be upfront — there isn’t much of a story here. It’s just a thinly veiled way to teach players more about the Foamstar that they’re currently playing, providing a backstory that showcases information about the character and their intentions. However, if you want to learn more about how the character you want to play plays, then it’s worth diving into. Each of the missions can be completed rather quickly, so you won’t need to worry about sinking countless hours into each character, since these are just glorified shooting galleries.

While it would have been nice to have a full story mode like Foamstar’s inspiration, we’ll take what we can get. As the game continues to grow and mature, there is a chance that we could see more of a fully-fledged offering emerge within the game, either as paid or free DLC. Until then, you can easily practice against the Bubble Beasties with your favorite character here.

Make sure that you’re keeping an eye on our Foamstars section below to learn more about the game, and to find out if the game is down or having issues.
