In Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, players are thrown into the Urzikstan map with a time limit, and the only way out is through an Exfil. But do you need to leave each match? I’ll explain the whole process in this guide.

Do You Have to Leave in MW3 Zombies?

The short answer is yes, you have to Exfil in MW3 Zombies if you want to survive and keep all of your loot. You can technically stay on the map for the entire duration of the map, but if you don’t leave you can’t just keep playing. The Aether Storm will kill you quickly over time and there will be no escape from the deployment zone.

You get 45 minutes in each match to complete objectives around Urzikstan without any worries about the Aether Storm. After the 45-minute mark, the storm will start to cover the map from the inside out over 15 minutes. Within that time, you need to find one of the Exfil spots marked by the blue figure running out of a door.

There is one way to stay longer than the standard hour in each match. At least one of the main story missions for MW3 Zombies has an Exfil Point that can be used at any time in the Tier 2 zone. Using it brings you to the mission itself, and it resets the clock for another hour of gameplay. You won’t be able to explore the standard map, but you can technically keep the match going.

Either way, you need to Exfil somewhere if you want to survive your Zombies match. Down the line, more time could be added or a round-based map that doesn’t have a time limit. Until then, avoid the storm at all costs.
