Destiny 2 Update for EDZ Obelisk Postponed

If you’ve been wondering about when Bungie is going to get around to fixing the latest frustration with current content in Destiny 2, we’ve got some bad news for you: you might have to wait a little bit longer. The Destiny 2 update for the EDZ Obelisk has been postponed, and here’s what we know about it so far.

Destiny 2 Update for EDZ Obelisk Postponed

If you’ve been tracking the issue with the EDZ Obelisk interactions, then this might well be disappointing for you considering that Bungie put the game through a dose of backend maintenance very recently that was announced on its Help forums

For those who haven’t been aware of the EDZ Obelisk issues, here’s a bit of a rundown of how it goes. We covered off some of the Obelisk locations a bit earlier on in the Season’s lifespan, but since then, Guardians have really been cracking into what they (and Sundial) have to offer. Essentially, you can upgrade the obelisks that you find with Polarized Fractaline, and doing so will result in you being able to net better gains from Sundial runs. However, Guardians have been unable to interact with the EDZ Obelisk tower, gating them from spending that Fractaline which affects how rewarding your time with the related playlist is.

While there have been some workarounds, mainly spawning in at different locations and then going to the EDZ obelisk while praying that you get into an instance where it’s unlocked by everyone around you, it’s clearly been a recurring issue. Bungie had mentioned that it was going to put out a fix on January 14, though the tweet above notes that this has now been postponed with no fixed date on when they’re going to deal with this issue. When we find out more about why the Destiny 2 update for the EDZ Obelisk was postponed, we’ll be sure to update our guides hub. In the meantime, why not check out some of our other content geared towards Guardians right now?
