Can You Play Skull and Bones Offline? – Answered

Can you peacefully sail the waters?

Unfortunately, you cannot play Skull and Bones in Offline mode. Since it is an MMORPG title, you will have to join an online server every time you launch the game. And for that, you will need to have an internet connection 24/7. It is a real bummer for players who have limited connectivity and want to play the game without an internet connection.

The game also does not feature a Single-Player Campaign. The story is also not the main aspect, as the game revolves around customizing your ship and sailing the Indian Ocean. There is no end goal of any sort or any lore to the game. However, there are Multiplayer Modes you can try out. One such mode is Loot Hunt, where two groups go on a treasure hunt and challenge each other.

Other than the Multiplayer modes in the game, you may also come across other player’s ships roaming the ocean, but there is nothing more to it. There is not much interaction with other players other than in the PvP game modes. So, the game being only online playable does not make any sense.

With you connected to the servers at all times while playing the game, there are a lot of items you can get with real money. These include cosmetic items for your ship, crew, players, pets, and more. Like most live-service titles, there are plenty of microtransactions to entice players to open their wallets and spend.
