Can You Get Banned for Using Mods in Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC?

To mod or not to mod - that is the question.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a fantastic game through and through, but some players are looking for even more. No matter if you’re hoping to remove stamina drain when not fighting or hoping to boost your CPU usage, can you be banned for using mods in-game?

Can Modding Dragon’s Dogma 2 Break Your Game?

If you’re planning on modding Dragon’s Dogma 2, it seems that some mods may be fine while others could get your Main Pawn banned from entering the Rift or your account locked in specific ways. For example, a Reddit thread discussing different mods has brought up different results, especially for players who are modding specific features into the game.

If you’re planning on messing around with your Pawn’s stats or Vocation, there is a good chance that they’re no longer going to be hireable from the rift. On the other side of the coin, players who have been modding things such as CPU fixes and removing Stamina when not in battle have reported no such bans while altering the gameplay for their own purposes.

As with any new game, there is always a risk of getting banned from using online features if you’re not being careful, or if you’re going above and beyond what should be reasonably expected from the game. You may be able to mod your character level without seeing any issues — I’ve seen a few players that are already level 999 less than a week after the official release — and I’ve still encountered their normal levels pawns on the road.

It seems like general gameplay mods that don’t affect or break the online experience for other players are being allowed, but if you start messing with your Pawn, it may be game over. You’ll be plenty strong once you’ve tracked down monsters like the Gorechimera or the Goreminotaur, so be patient and get ready to enjoy one of the most exciting RPGs on the market.

No matter if you’ve played the entirety of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen or this is your first experience with the franchise, we’ve got you covered in our section below. Find out what other secrets await you, and find out where to find a place with plenty of tomes for a frustrating main story mission.
