Dragon’s Dogma 2: How To Find A Place With Plenty of Tomes for the Caged Magistrate

I was elected to lead, not to read.

If you’ve begun helping Brant in Vernworth, you may be struggling to find out where there is a place with plenty of Tomes for Waldhar to retire away to. Let’s dive in and find out what we’ll need to do to get him to safety in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Where Is There A Place with Plenty of Tomes in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

If you’ve spoken with the Magistrate in the Gaol already, you’ll want to head toward the Gracious Hand building, located in the Common Quarter of Vernworth. Find and speak with Kendrick to receive The Heel of History questline, which is going to be pertinent when completing this quest. After you have completed the Heel of History, you’ll find that there is a secret underground alcove filled to the brim with books — perfect for the Magistrate to hide away in out of the public eye.

At the end of The Heel of History, Malcolm will disclose that he’s found a secret place just ahead that is filled to the brim with books, books, and more books. This secret workshop is exactly the type of place that Magistrate Waldhar could spend his time in once you break him free of the Gaol. Even Kendrick of the Gracious Hand agrees that this place should stay a secret unless we know of someone who deserves to be there.

From here, you’ll want to return to the Gaol in the Royal Quarters and speak with Magistrate Waldhar once again to let him know that you’ve found a place for him to run away and hide in. It’s up to you to guide him out of the Gaol, so head toward the back of the building and use the key that Brant gave you to take him outside. Waldhar will not follow you upstairs, so you’ll need to head down the hallway and exit through the rear.

After this point, you’ll be free to continue with different main quests or continue working on sidequests that you’ve accumulated up to this point. Or, just go out and explore the world knowing that you’ve completed yet another good deed. The world is your oyster in Dragon’s Dogma 2, so get ready for anything it can throw your way.
