Can You Get 60 FPS in Redfall? – Answered

Shotgun blasts in a crisp 60 frames would be nice.

Redfall is the latest flagship title from Xbox’s group of in-house studios, particularly Arkane Studios. Given that it’s from in-house at Microsoft, creators of both Windows and Xbox consoles, performance, and quality are expected to be at a high point. With that said, you might be wondering how possible it is to get a high, stable framerate. Here’s whether you can get 60 FPS in Redfall.

How Much FPS Can You Get in Redfall?

This answer varies whether you’re playing the game on PC or through Xbox Series X|S. If you’re playing on PC, then like just about any other game, the answer will depend on what level of hardware you’re running. It also depends on the individual settings, such as texture quality and what mode of Nvidia’s DLSS you’re running. You can even get much higher than 60 FPS, provided you’re running the correct kind of monitor and PC parts.

On the other hand, Xbox Series X|S is much more complicated. If you’re running an Xbox Series X, the game will run at a default of 4K/30 FPS. Meanwhile, Xbox Series S users can run the game at 1440p/30 FPS. This means 60 FPS is impossible on Xbox, though that won’t be the case for long. According to Arkane, a future patch will introduce a Performance mode that promises to bring 60 FPS if you so desire. For Xbox Series X, we’ll likely see 1440p/60 FPS while Xbox Series S will see 1080p/60 FPS. This is purely speculatory though, and may be different down the line.

While it is a shame that Redfall doesn’t sport 60 FPS at launch for Xbox consoles, it’s good to know that the game will support it eventually. In the meantime, there’s plenty you can do in the game on the lower framerate. Unlocking safehouses is just one part of that, which our guide can help you with.
