Best Teams to Play for in MyCareer in NBA 2K25

Championship incoming.

In NBA 2K25, choosing the correct team means just as much as creating your own player build. Your team’s success will depend on your fit with the team, and pushing other great players away isn’t a good way to win. Regardless of your player’s position and build, there will be a team out there that perfectly matches their needs to your skills. Here are the best teams to play for in MyCareer in NBA 2K25.

Best Teams to Choose in NBA 2K25’s MyCareer Mode

Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are still one of the best teams in the league just because of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This one-two combo needs help from other positions, mainly the point guard position. Playing for the Lakers will definitely breed a championship pedigree out of your player, and since LeBron can play positionless basketball and Anthony Davis can play the four and five, all positions are basically open.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks have one of the greatest backcourt duos of all time, and they recently added Klay Thompson this season, too. Luka and Kyrie need a decent big, and there is no other team perfect for a PF and C position than the Dallas Mavericks. Dereck Lively II will take some time to develop, but he will surely get better. If you add your player to the Maverick’s roster, you’ll have a strong superteam with no weaknesses.

Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets have the same outlook in terms of opening positions as the Los Angeles Lakers. The team is run by Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, and they have a better cast than the Lakers. However, flexibility is lacking, as Jokic needs to play the C position while Jamal Murray can play both PG and SG. The Denver Nuggets has a flexible starting five, and you can fit a forward or a guard to play along with Jokic, Murray, Gordon, and Porter Jr.

Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder is one of the youngest teams in the league, and they even finished first in the Western Conference last year. The team has a decent core with Williams, Holmgren, and runner-up MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. You can build a forward or a guard and play alongside a #1 team that is still growing.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves surprised everyone with their playoff run last year. Anthony Edwards is slowly becoming one of the best players in the league and the franchise player. The team has one of the best defenses in the league because of Towns, Gobert, and Reid.

They have some decent 3-and-D players like Alexander-Walker and McDaniels, but they are missing a point guard to round up the whole team. They have a veteran, Mike Conley, to run the show, but this is where your player comes in. The team is craving an offensive point guard juggernaut, and that is one of the most sought-after builds and positions in NBA 2K25.
